About Us

The Warwick Youth Basketball (WYB) travel program is led by dedicated volunteers who are committed to teaching the fundamentals of basketball to boys and girls in grades K-8. Our program, which operates under the umbrella of the Warwick Police Athletic League (PAL), focuses on commitment, teamwork, skill development and good sportsmanship. WYB draws players from elementary, two super middle and local private schools in the City of Warwick. The travel basketball season starts in October and concludes in mid-March.

Misson Statement: It is the mission of the Warwick Youth Basketball Program to instill in our players confidence, commitment, leadership skills, and integrity as a foundation for a productive and successful life. Our goal is to teach our athletes respect for themselves, their peers, and their community by instilling a code of ethics built on honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. Our players, families, and volunteers work together to cultivate a disciplined, yet competitive environment so that every player can reach their full potential, develop their talents, and enhance their skills in the game of basketball, and more importantly in life. Our mission can only be accomplished through a shared and collaborative effort from coaches, players, and parents. Our coaches are all volunteers and contribute a significant amount of time teaching team concepts while working on individual skills. Players need to absorb the teaching provided and work to continually improve their skills. Parents need to be supportive of the coaching received and the efforts of all involved.

Vision Statement: To be recognized as a leading travel basketball program in the State of Rhode Island by tirelessly providing an organized and high-quality basketball program that puts players' and parents' experience at the forefront. To inspire our players to have confidence in themselves, do great things on and off the basketball court, and be leaders in our Warwick, Rhode Island community.
